Bio/Description

I am primarily interested in how our brain enables us to navigate a world overflowing with information that far exceeds our capacity to process. How does the brain determine what to prioritize and what to ignore? How does it ensure that crucial information is not missed while also allowing us to focus on specific elements for efficient processing? To explore these questions, I study the interplay between spatial attention and eye movements at both the behavioral and neuronal levels, with a particular emphasis on the role of rhythmic network dynamics. I am deeply grateful to be guided in this research by both Sabine Kastner from Princeton and Peter De Weerd from Maastricht University.
